GM Parts and Labor Costs

Specific components within nine major assemblies of your GM vehicle are covered against mechanical failure even if it results from wear and tear*. That includes parts and labor on:

Transmission / Transaxle
Front / Rear-wheel-drive assemblies
Fuel system
Vehicle manufacturer-installed air conditioning systems

Electrical system
Braking system components
Front suspension
Steering system

GM Towing

If a covered system fails, Value Guard will provide authorization or reimbursement for towing (some limits apply)**.

Alternate Transportation while your GM is being serviced

If your GM vehicle is repaired under General Motors Value Guard, you're covered for alternate transportation. GM Value Guard will pay the cost to rent a replacement vehicle or for public transportation (some limits apply) whenever:

Two or more manufacturer's labor time guide hours are required for the repair, or
Your vehicle is not drivable and must be kept overnight**

Is GMPP Value Guard a GM Extended Warranty?

A GMPP Value Guard service contract is a promise to perform (or pay for) certain repairs of services. Most consumers call this a "GM Extended Warranty", however a GM service contract is not a extended warranty as defined by federal law. The separate and additional cost distinguishes a service contract from a GM warranty. A General Motors Protection Plan (GMPP) may be arranged at any time and always costs extra; a GM factory warranty comes with a new GM and is included in the original price of the vehicle.

Choose the General Motors Value Guard term best for your situation. Coverage is offered based on years of anticipated ownership and annual mileage driven. Deductible choices are available from $0 to $200, meaning you can minimize unanticipated out-of-pocket expenses for covered repairs.

If a GM vehicle is out-of-warranty when it is purchased, GM Value Guard can only be obtained at the time of vehicle purchase. You can even make GM Value Guard part of your monthly payment.
