If you are purchasing an Porsche , or if you already own one, you may be thinking about getting some level of coverage beyond the normal manufacturer's warranty. Although Porsche 's are generally very reliable vehicles, an extended auto warranty may provide you with protection to offer you the peace of mind you are looking for. Porsche Coverage programs can either extend the original level of coverage that came with your vehicle, or offer you a limited extended warranty plan. These plans are accepted nationwide at all Porsche dealers, and also afford you with most of the benefits usually granted with new car purchases.

Porsche Factory Warranty:

New Vehicle Limited Warranty on Porsche vehicles registered in the U.S.A. are covered for 2 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first). The complete vehicle is covered, including tires, towing to your nearest Porsche dealership, and cosmetic corrosion resulting from defects. Repairs will be made to correct any vehicle defect, and most warranty repairs will be made at no charge.

  • 2 years warranty for all new vehicles;
  • 2-year warranty for genuine Porsche parts, exchange parts and accessories, which are used or sold outside of warranty work. The warranty period for Porsche parts which are used in connection with warranty work ends contemporaneously with the warranty period for the purchased item which has become defective;
  • 3 years for the paintwork;
  • 10-year long-life warranty against rust holes in the bodyshell. (please refer to the conditions in the Warranty and Maintenance handbook)

Porsche Basic Limited Warranty

Porsche vehicles have a 4 years/50,000 miles (whichever occurs first). The New Vehicle Limited Warranty begins on the date the car is first delivered to the first retail purchaser or the date it is first used as a demonstrator, lease,or company car, whichever comes first. The car is covered for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Porsche Cars N.A. will repair or replace with a new or remanufactured part distributed by Porsche Cars N.A., at its sole option, any factoryinstalled part that is defective in material or workmanship under normal use. (Normal vehicle use is described in this Booklet.) Warranty repairs will be made free of charge for parts and labor at an authorized Porsche dealership. Tires are not warranted by Porsche Cars North America but are warranted by the tire manufacturer. See your Porsche dealer for terms of this limited warranty.

Porsche Warranty Does Not Cover

  • Emission Control Systems and Corrosion. (Refer to the Emission Control and Corrosion Limited Warranties in this Booklet.)
  • Batteries damaged from storage, lack of normal vehicle use, or non-Porsche approved electrical or accessory installation.
  • Tires damaged by road hazard. (If you need further assistance,contact your authorized Porsche automobile dealer.)
  • Tires damaged by premature wear.
    Note: Porsche's race-bred heritage demands that tires are an integral part of the vehicle suspension, braking, and active safety systems. As a result, all Porsches are equipped with tires designed for higher performance than those found on other passenger vehicles. While tire wear varies with vehicle operation, high performance tires like these are designed to assist the vehicle's suspension in delivering increased cornering forces and better handling. Thus, they may exhibit increased wear characteristics when compared to tires on other passenger vehicles. Consult your Owner's Manual for information concerning the proper care and selection of your tires. (Refer to the Porsche Tire Information Guide for additional information.)
  • Parts that fail due to lack of required maintenance or use of non-Porsche Cars N.A. distributed parts.
  • Normal wear or deterioration of any part.
  • Cleaning and polishing.
  • Contamination of fuels, lubricants, or other fluids.
  • Lubricants, unless part of a warranty repair.
  • Air conditioner refrigerant charge after the first three months of service unless part of a warranty repair.
  • Glass breakage, chips and/or scratches that are not due to a defect in material or workmanship.
  • Appearance items that are not due to a defect in material or workmanship.
  • Any car registered or normally driven outside of the United States and Canada.
  • The replacement of expendable maintenance items (such as spark plugs, filters, worn wiper blades, worn brakes, worn clutches, worn tires) when the replacement is not due to a defect in material or workmanship.
  • The adding of any fluids unless they are needed as part of a warranty repair.
  • Any car with an odometer that has been altered so that the actual mileage cannot be determined.
  • Dealer-installed accessories. (Refer to the Replacement Parts and Accessories Limited Warranty in this Booklet.)
  • Wheel balancing and wheel alignment beyond the first three months of service unless part of a warranty repair.
  • Unauthorized modifications or vehicles with total loss or salvage titles.
  • Modifications not authorized by Porsche Cars N.A. or it’s authorized dealers.
  • Service adjustments (such as idle speed, air/fuel mixture, brake, clutch, headlight, and drive belts) beyond the first three months of service unless part of a warranty repair.
  • Improper repairs by someone other than Porsche Cars N.A. or it’s authorized dealers.
  • Abuse, accident, acts of God, competition, racing or track use or other events.
    Note: Components and/or parts that fail during racing or driving events (including Porche sponsored events) will not be covered by the manufacturer new car limited warranty.

The special body company, assembler, equipment installer, or upfitter is solely responsible for warranties on the body or equipment and any alterations (or any effect of the alterations) to any of the parts, components, systems, or assemblies installed by Porsche . Porsche is not responsible for the safety or quality of design features, materials, or workmanship of any alterations by such suppliers.
